Week 7: Insights from last weeks

  • SIMPLE is ready to use. Read the instructions and export data.
  • We need data for energy sector within Navajo Nation
    • In time t, are they exporting or importing energy
  • For the forecast, national level is available and we need to develop future trend of energy sector for the Navajo Nation

What should be done? (Top priority)

  • SIMPLE model run
  • Energy sector analysis
  • Sketch of the research model
  • Convert the sketch to diagram

What I want to do in extra (second priority):

  • Literature review documents become lined and in-progress
  • Start writing formal reports and practice writing before I come up with a critical situation.
  • Cleanup previous reports and count in the remaining tasks.
  • Go for remaining from last weeks’ tasks:

SIMPLE Model:

1.Crops list (plus Cultivar): These parameters are crop-specific:

  • Species*,Tbase,Topt,RUE,I50maxH,I50maxW,MaxT ExtremeT,CO2_RUE,S_Water

  • sweetcorn,8,27,1.7,100,5,34,50,0.01,2

  • Species,Cultivar,Tsum,HI,I50A,I50B

  • sweetcorn,GSS0966 sh2,1900,0.45,500,250

2.Soil

  • SoilName*, AWC, RCN, DDC, RZD
  • Sand1, 0.07, 60, 0.7, 800

Description: I need some literature showing what the soil type of the region is.

3.Irrigation

  • No irrigation (0); all precipitation

Treatment: Weather

Historical: Forecast: GFDL

Treatment: Exp: Create the experiment

Species,Exp,Trt,Label,Weather,CO2,SowingDate,HarvestDate,SoilName,Cultivar*,IrrigationTrt,MaxIntercept,InitialBio,InitialTT ,InitialFsolar ,NOTE

Simulation Management

  • Exp*:
  • Trt* of a Exp*: {1,2,…,}
  • same Exp: same weather, same different CO2, different sowing/harvest date

CO2: fixed value
